Susan G. Komen of Northwest Ohio
I was honored to be the “In Celebration” Honoree for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Toledo, Ohio on Sunday, September 28, 2014….It was truly a great and overwhelming honor to be chosen from a field of so many deserving women. When over 27,000 people walked and ran the race in my honor, it was such an emotional time.

How I made it through Chemo by Denise McCroskey
“I wrote and talked.”
“When I was diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer, I decided to start blogging,” says Denise McCroskey, of oregon, oH, who documented her journey at denise4health.info. “During my hours in the chemo chair, my priority was talking to others receiving treatment. A great conversation helps the time pass quickly. And even if we had different types of cancer, we were able to share coping strategies. My chemo nurses knew I liked to talk to others so they would ask if I would talk to a patient who needed an understanding ear. by encour-aging others, it helped me get through the most challenging time of my life.”
